Description
Description
Kanter Auto's selection of Castrol Classic Gear Oils are a range of high-quality mineral gear oils formulated for classic and vintage vehicles. Each grade is engineered with anti-oxidant and anti-wear additives to protect gearboxes, differentials, and axles — meeting the specific demands of older transmission designs that often require sensitive-metal-compatible or low-EP formulations.
Choose the right grade for your application:
- EP 90 – A mineral gear oil with extreme-pressure, anti-oxidant, and anti-wear additives. Recommended for conventional spiral bevel final drives, mild hypoid axles, and spur or helical gears where API GL-4 is specified. Use where "Castrol Hypoid" has been specified. Master Data Sheet.
- EP 140 – A high-viscosity SAE 140 straight gear oil with anti-wear and extreme-pressure protection, formulated for helical, spur, bevel, and worm gears. Compatible with sensitive yellow-metal components (brass and bronze). Not suitable for hypoid gears. Use where "Castrol D" has been specified. Master Data Sheet.
- D 140 – A high-viscosity mono-grade straight gear oil with anti-oxidant and anti-wear additives. Designed for sensitive yellow-metal components and older vehicles where previous wear may have occurred. Suitable for helical, spur, bevel, and worm gears. Not suitable for hypoid gears. Master Data Sheet.
- ST 90 – A mono-grade SAE 90 gear oil for non-hypoid gearboxes and differentials, particularly suited to straight-cut gears. For gear boxes and differentials where a non low-EP gear oil is specified. Use where "Castrol Swanshot" has been specified. Master Data Sheet.
All grades available in 1L. Always refer to your vehicle manufacturer's specifications when selecting a gear oil grade.
